On the telly...
Oct. 1st, 2009 10:42 pmIf anyone is looking for something to make them laugh I recommend 'Off the Hook' on BBC3. It's a simple, low budget sit-com focusing on two 18 year old lads in their first few weeks at uni. I laughed my head off at this evenings episode and I hardly ever laugh out loud at anything these days. And in case anyone is worried - it's nothing at all like 2 Pints of Lager or any of its woeful spins offs.
Lovefilm have sent me the first series of 'Dirt'. I've watched the first two episodes and my opinion so far is divided. I like the fact that it's different. It's not a police procedural or a medical drama or a glossy sitcom. I'm not so sure about the actual plotlines and I'm really not convinced by Courtney Cox's acting. The take on the gossip mag industry is fairly interesting. It's really made me wonder how far UK mags go to get their stories.
I've decided that Hollyoaks characters must enter a strange parallel universe the moment they set foot outside Hollyoaks Village. They all seem to develop different personalities and then go completely nuts. This isn't the first time I've been baffled by a series of 'Later' (anyone remember the one where Steph died and came back to life?!) but I'm sure this is the maddest ever. I also guarantee that apart from the Sarah storyline (she just plunged to her death in the most ridiculously unbelieveable rigged parachute incident ever) no one will remember anything about the events of this week in two weeks time. Plenty of gratuitous semi-nudity though. Nick Pickard is actually quite fit with his clothes off.
In other news, I ordered some shoes from Office using the 20% off code they sent me last time they failed to deliver something. They're at my parents' house and I can't wait to go and get them. Yay shoes! I'm still looking for nice pair of red shoes though. All the ones I've seen are the wrong shade.
