I decided it was about time I adopted a seasonal theme for my LJ. So here it is. I went for baubles this year. I must remember to change it after Christmas. Last year I forgot and ended up with a snowman until well in to spring!
I also made four new userpics from the 'Invaders Must Die' video. I say 'made' but I actually mean screencapped from the video and cropped them to size. No artistic endevour took place in the slightest. They are black and white and very moody. They don't complement my Christmassy journal theme at all. Oh well. I also decided to change my default userpic for this first time since I've had icons. I think I got my first icon in around 2005 so this is quite a big change. Human Traffic (10 years old next year, which I find pretty scary) has given way to the Prodigy being Noel Clarke's demons. I'm a bit annoyed that all my past entries and comments in which I used my default icon have changed too but I suppose it serves me right for not being creative.
I did a bit of Christmas shopping today. I didn't get much but at least I tried. I've just ordered my first proper gift online (a record player stylus for my uncle) so I'm getting somewhere at last. I now have Christmas Cards which is a great relief. I got charity ones from Paperchase. They aren't as traditional as I would have liked but I was getting desperate! I've written two so far but will probably polish off the rest tomorrow morning. A more immediate worry is finding a birthday gift for my best friend. It was a her birthday three weeks ago but she was on holiday in Australia. She's now back and I should be seeing her before Christmas. I really should have thought about this more. I have no idea what to get her.
'Outnumbered' is hilarious. Everyone should try and catch an episode. It makes me laugh out loud which is not an easy thing to achieve. The little girl who plays Karen is a comedy genius. The other day I overheard a colleague saying that her six year old daughter never stopped talking. I thought of Karen and realised what the poor woman is going through at the moment!
The other show that consistently makes me laugh is The IT Crowd. It certainly has the best opening titles on TV at the moment.
