Feeling hot, hot, hot...

The heatwave has most definitely hit.  I popped down to mum and dad's to water their plants this afternoon and it was absolutely baking.  I was quite jealous of the kids next door who were splashing around in their paddling pool.  At least I've done my daughterly duty now.  All plants have now been watered and dead headed.  It took a good hour to do, so I'm hoping I picked up a bit of a tan.  I also had a quick look over the fence at the other neighbour's baby chicks.  They're still at the ridiculously cute, yellow and fluffy stage.  If they keep them all when the grow up I suspect they'll have more eggs than they know what to do with.

I've been having a pretty quiet and unproductive weekend.  Yesterday, I spent the best part of an hour meticulously stitching my piece of embroidery on to the embroidery frame, the realised it wasn't taut enough and spent half an hour this morning taking it off again.  Duh!  I'm now officially sick of the sight of it and won't be trying to stitch it on again until next weekend.  It's not really gone as planned as it was meant to be a gift for the friend whose birthday do I attended last weekend.  A definite 'fail' on my part I think.

I've also re-watched most of the first series of 'This Life' for about the tenth time.  I considered watching 'Spiderman' which Lovefilm have sent me on DVD but I'm not sure I want to see it anymore.  I get the feeling it was one of the titles I selected when I first joined Lovefilm and was a bit over-enthusiastic.  I won't be watching it this evening because there's one hour of 'Jam and Jerusalem' on BBC1 followed by 'Louis Theroux' on BBC2.
