Failure...

May. 10th, 2008 10:25 pm
I'm crap. I didn't make it out shopping today because I realised the last two episodes of Falcon Beach were on and couldn't tear myself away until it had finished. What a pathetic couch potato excuse.

Today was hot. I didn't help the situation this morning by cooking breakfast, ironing, having a shower and blow drying my hair just to ensure the flat was as warm as possible. It was actually quite nice outside as there was a nice cool breeze. I took my plastic recycling down to Tesco then got something for dinner in Asda. I should really have made better use of a nice day. Being British I'm always aware that every sunny day could be the last day of summer.

The weight loss attempt has now started. I tried on my new shorts last night. They just about fit but they're a bit tight. The size 12 will be much too big around the waist so I'm going to have to lose a few pounds to fit into the 10. I'm currently around 8 stone 12 pounds. I guess I probably need to be 8 stone 5 ish to get into the shorts. Today I ran up and down the fire escape stairs five times (all seven flights) and then did a 30 minute stretch and tone video. My legs now hurt. I find it difficult to lose weight unless I starve myself. This time I'm determined though. I'm going to cut out chocolate and cheese and try to cut down on wheat. At present I'm suffering from chocolate withdrawl. I've eaten a big dinner but I need something else. Aaarrrggghhh!

Watched Dr Who. Quite enjoyed it. Martha Jones is such a good character. It's a shame we have to put up with annoying Catherine Tate instead. Jenny was an interesting character. Not sure how the Dr Who fan community will react to this major development but I bet quite a few of them enjoyed seeing the lovely Georgia Moffat on screen! I think I can see how the rest of the season is shaping up now. I get the feeling Jenny, Rose, Martha and Donna may all end up in the same place at some point... Joe Dempsie was a bit wasted though.

Then made the mistake of watching Madonna performing live at the Radio One Big Weekend. It'd been so long since I'd seen footage of live Madonna performance that I'd forgotten what a dreadful singer she is. The dancing was great but the singing was rubbish. It was all a visual spectacle really. Compared to the likes of Beyonce and even Britney (at her best obviously) it was all a bit disappointing. Also, Madonna seems to be turning into Cher. They must have the same plastic surgeon!

Tomorrow I'm definitely going to go shopping. I need some smart sandals and a skirt for work. I should really hoover too but I bet I don't get around to it.
