My random life...
Mar. 6th, 2008 10:35 pmLast months belt tightening exercise was a success. By not buying anything other than food, cleaning materials, travel and a birthday card and gift I managed to save £230. This means that I've nearly paid off my new glasses already. Really should try and buy some new work clothes this month. Couldn't find anything I liked in Hounslow this evening though. Not even at the Debenhams 20% off night.
The housing association have reached a new level of ineptitude. Yesterday, I received a letter asking whether I would like my property to be surveyed with a view to having loft insulation installed. This would be fine if I actually had a loft. I live in a fourth floor flat! At least I know what my £10 per month rent increase is paying for now - sending out pointless letters to hundreds of tenants!
It's Cardiff Bloke's 32nd birthday today. He's had a card and a text message so he can't complain that I forgot. Still working on getting him a gift. It's been so long since I saw him that I don't know what he has these days.
There is now a new novelty car horn owner spending time in the McDonalds car park opposite my flat. This one plays the annoying Mexican song ('La Carucha' - don't know how to spell it) and is very annoying. Hopefully the police will catch up with him/her soon and confiscate it like they did the last one.
The season of great TV is not turning out to be as great as I'd hoped. I'm bored with Hotel Babylon. I get the feeling they've run out of ideas a bit. Ashes to Ashes isn't as good as I'd hoped. I watched Rock Rivals instead of Torchwood and that was a bit rubbish too. I know that it was meant to be sort of Footballer's Wives tacky rubbish but I felt that it was just plain rubbish. Michelle Collins still hasn't learnt to act. Goodness knows how many years it's been since she left Eastenders but she's still as bad as she ever was. Thank goodness for Skins and Moving Wallpaper.
