At least the view was nice...
Feb. 13th, 2008 10:16 pmI went on a visit to the headquarters of the London Pension Fund Authority today for a training session. Their office is right opposite the Tower of London. What a great place to work! You can see the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and "The Gherkin" in one direction and the whole Canary Wharf area in the other. I love London views. I wouldn't want to have to brave an hour long tube ride to work there every day, but it was nice for a free day out (can claim travel expenses because it was a training course) and the weather was lovely. The lunch was excellent and the course itself was pretty useful too. I got to meet in the flesh several people I've spoken to regularly over the phone for the past three and half years which is always interesting. I find that people never look anything like you imagine them to.
By the end of this week I'll have spent almost four whole days either training or in meetings. Why do these things all seem to fall in the same week? I go for months without a training session and then three in one week! My brain will be mush by Friday night.
The TV schedulers are spoiling me at the moment. Next week I will be watching: Skins on Monday, Hotel Babylon on Tuesday, Torchwood (Martha Jones!!!) on Wednesday, Ashes to Ashes on Thursday and Moving Wallpaper & Echo Beach on Friday. I can't afford to go anywhere or do anything until after payday but with TV this good I'm not so bothered.
