My exams are over now which is obviously a good thing.  Unfortunately, I now have four days to sort out my management report as I'm starting the primary research next week.  Additionally, exam stress has taken its toll.  I've got two painful mouth ulcers and I'm knackered because I didn't sleep at all on Monday night.  My sinuses are playing up too so I'm feeling a bit like I'm living under water at the moment.  Fortunately, I'm going to the doctors on Friday (about something else entirely) so I can get myself checked out then.

Spent this afternoon looking for a new winter coat in Ealing and then Hounslow.  It's completely the wrong time of year to be looking for such an item and choice was limited.  I almost bought a bright blue coat in the Debenhams sale then realised that it would look terrible with most of the colours I tend to wear so didn't bother.  Consequently, I still have a winter coat which is falling to bits :(  I've also been seriously thinking about what to wear to my friend's wedding in April.  There seems to be a lot of green in the shops and I rarely wear green so I might go in that direction.  It'll match my green eyes.  What to wear to a spring wedding is a bit of a prediciment though.  It could be lovely and warm but it could equally be mighty chilly.  Whatever I buy, a matching cardie is required I think.  Must remember to email my friend to tell her I don't eat shellfish.  I should've put it in my acceptance but I forgot.  Ooops!

Oddly there is now a shop advertising Palmistry in Hounslow High Street.  I wonder if it does good business.  Personally I don't get involved in that kind of stuff.  I don't really believe in it but I'm such a worrier that I'd worry about whatever I was told anyway.  An ex of mine had his palm read and was told that his life line had a break in it which meant that he would die and then come back to life fairly soon.  He got really wound up about it.  I remember my schoolfriends attempted a Ouji Board (is that how you spell it?) once but I opted out.  The memory of them all standing solemnly around a wall in the school playground chanting "I call to the spirit of this pencil sharpener" makes me giggle though.

Watched the first episode of 'Party Animals' this evening.  The new comedy drama from the team behind 'This Life'.  Story wise it was OK but more interestingly it has provided me with a new bit of TV eye candy.  The guy who plays Scott is very cute indeed.  Lovely blue eyes.  Must try and find out his name from the BBC website or IMDB or somewhere.

Got my first leccie bill yesterday.  It was hugely wrong of course.  Every official letter I'm sent these days is wrong.  I've now got it sorted out and the total is £124 since 13th October.  I don't think that's too bad if it's going to be similar to that every quarter however I wasn't actually living here for the first fortnight or so which may have brought it down a bit.  My Council Tax is sorted now too.  In the correct band with the single occupants deduction applied.  All sorted now.

Just looked through the katie_pillar's list of all the books she read in 2006.  I can't wait until I've finished my uni course so I can start reading books for enjoyment again.  I think I only read a couple of novels last year, the rest of the time was spent reading dull uni books by professors and business gurus who give their books stupid names (calling a management book 'The Elephant and the Flea' for goodness sake!)  I also miss reading on the train.  I can't read on buses as it makes me travel sick :(  Would love to commute by train again even though it's more expensive.  Fewer screaming kids and danger of roadworks.

Talking of traffic chaos.  My commute is just over five miles door to door (someone looked it up and told me).  I get the bus outside my flat and it drops me off outside work.  It sometimes takes me 45minutes to get there :(  At the moment there are major roadworks en route becasue they are laying cable TV lines down the middle of a single carriageway road meaning that there must be temporary traffic lights.  This afternoon I followed the same route at around 3pm and we waited in the queue for the temporary traffic lights for twenty minutes and that was at a time when there wasn't much traffic.  It'll be awful next week during the rush hour :(  On Tuesday morning it was lucky that I left early for my exam as there was a massive traffic jam because a car had broken down in Hounslow and the traffic had been stopped whilst a tow truck removed it.  I hate traffic.  I wish I could just walk everywhere.

So much good TV starting at the moment.  'Bonkers' and 'Benidorm' both start tomorrow on ITV.  New shows on ITV don't normally fill me with anticipation but they've both got good write ups and 'Bonkers' is by the person who wrote 'At Home with the Braithwaites' which I loved.  'Life on Mars' and 'Hotel Babylon' are following shortly.  I spotted a poster for 'Life on Mars' on a bus stop today.  Mum was a big fan last time around but I missed most of it because it was on while I was at uni.

Don't think it's a secret now that Life on Mars is doing a bit of Camberwick Green crossover.  Sounds like something a, more imaginative than me, fanfic writer would come up with.  Got me thinking about Camberwick Green.  I remember watching it when I was little in the early 80s so I wondered why it was being linked with a show set in the 70s.  I checked in my 'Encyclopedia of Cult Kids TV' and discovered that it was first shown in 1966!  They really recycled old kids TV in those days.  Keep thinking of the awful rave track 'Trip to Trumpton' by Urban Hype.  All together now: "Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grup" ad nauseaum!
