Mobile is still out of action. It is now two weeks and a day since my phone was inexplicably barred by O2. Missed a call on Thursday afternoon then didn't receive one at all on Friday despite phoning customer services at lunch time to moan again. Totally fed up with the whole thing now so have got the address to send a complaint letter. Have also started looking for a new phone. Unless O2 offer me generous compensation I'll be jumping ship back to Vodafone or Orange come Christmas.
Went down to Reigate for my friend's birthday meal last night. The evening couldn't have started off worse. It had been raining torrentially since lunch time and I got soaked on the 5 minute walk to the station. About 10 steps outside work I trod in a puddle and my not waterproof, girlie shoes filled with water :( When I got to the station my train was running 15 minutes late so I had to wait under my umbrella for it to arrive. The train to Clapham Junction was OK but the train to Redhill was so crowded I thought I wasn't going to be able to get off. By the time I arrived I was in quite a bad mood but I cheered up when I got back to my friends' flat and took my soggy shoes and socks off. We went into Reigate to have a Nepalese meal at a restaurant called The Ghurka Kitchen. I'd never had Nepalese food before so it was all new to me. I decided to try Chana Chicken which is Chicken and Chickpeas cooked in Ginger sauce. We also had some rice mixed with strips of lamb and vegetable. The food was quite nice. Like curry but not as spicy or with such strong flavours. I think my friend was a bit disappointed to receive her candle in a lump of carrot fudge though. The Nepalese don't seem to go in for cake. I didn't drink very much as I didn't want to make myself ill but I still feel a bit rough this morning as I'm tired. The airbed was fairly comfortable but I just don't sleep very well when I'm not in my own bed. It also didn't help that my alarm on mum's mobile, which I'd borrowed, went off at 7am!
Went to Costa in Redhill for lunch (well cake for my friend due to last night's disappointment really) today and then home on the train. Got a fast train at Redhill but had to wait for nearly 20 minutes for the train at Clapham. It was too cold to be hanging around outside at stations today.
Wore the new clothes I bought on Thursday last night. Grey 60s style sweater dress, new shoes, black tights and a lovely new necklace with four lockets of varying sizes and shapes on it. I also took my new yellow handbag and have decided that I now need yellow shoes to go with it. Bit cross with myself for spending so much in Top Shop but I needed a 'going out' outfit for this season and I'll wear the shoes to work. I also got a bargainous new handbag for work from New Look reduced from £10 to £3 which almost made up for the more expensive stuff!
I've said it before but I'm enjoying the repeats of 'This Life' so much. They're well worth staying up until 12.45am for.
