More misery
Jan. 8th, 2006 05:08 pmThings went from bad to worse at work and to top it all off my Grandad's ill. The doctor did lots of tests on him last week and they've come back saying that he's severely anaemic and needs a blood transfusion. This isn't a big suprise to us as he'd been diagnosed as anaemic before and hadn't been taking his iron tablets properly. It's still a bit scarey though, especially as Grandad complains about everything and tends to drive doctors and nurses to distraction quickly. We don't know when he's going into hospital yet but I can see that there's a rough ride ahead.
I'm online at the moment as I'm meant to be sending emails out to all the people coming to my birthday do next Saturday. Sadly, hotmail seems to be down so I can't do anything about it :( I hope it sorts itself out soon as I need to send directions to the restaurant to everyone. Eleven people are definitely coming and two more haven't confirmed yet so it looks like a good number for once.
Back to uni tomorrow. Don't think I've done anywhere near enough work but have tried my best.
Don't know what I want for my birthday so I probably won't get anything much. I want lots of things but they're all too expensive for one person to buy me and my family object to giving money has a gift. As I have absolutely no space left in my bedroom this is probably a good thing. Squeezing my Christmas presents in had me in tears a couple of weeks ago! I guess I do have a lot of clutter but most of my space is taken up by books, CDs, DVDs, Playstation games and, what the catalogues would call, grooming products. There's not much I can do about any of them as I use them all. I have just off loaded a pair of shoes onto my sister though.
Only one Press Gang spot for this week. I caught Julia Sawalha in a movie called 'The Final Curtain' last night. This was a complete accident as, although I knew Julia appeared in the film, I failed to spot the listing in the Radio Times. Julia didn't appear to have many lines but I missed the first half hour so I can't be sure how big her role actually was. She looked lovely though. The movie itself was big on shock factor and the end was predictable. Great cast though, Peter O'Toole, Aiden Gillen and Adrian Lester were the stars.
That's it for now. I'll be back next week when I'll be 25 years old. Eeek!
