Feb. 8th, 2004 05:17 pmA couple of quite interesting things have happened this week, for a change.
Firstly, I've become a mentor to one of my colleagues who is taking an NVQ in Customer Service. We haven't really sorted out what I'll be doing yet but eventually I'll have to set her little tasks and write reports on how she does them. We're trying to cram a lot in over the next couple of months as she's leaving to have a baby in May and will be gone for six months. I'm quite looking forward to getting my teeth into the task. I guess it'll be a bit like when I was a Brownie Leader and I used to set activities for the girls.
Secondly, I met up with a friend, who I met doing Rag at Uni, last night. She lives up in Manchester now so I don't get to see her very often, but this weekend she was down visiting her brother who lives in Colliers Wood so we arranged to meet up. We had a very nice Italian meal in Wimbledon Village followed by a drink in All Bar One in Wimbledon. It was good to see her but I got caught in a hailstorm on the way home and got soaked. My friend and her boyfriend are off travelling in April so I'll probably go up to Manchester for their leaving party. They're going to Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and India all within 6 months so I guess they'll be pretty busy.
Valentines Day next Saturday, yet another year without a card I guess. Oh well, I guess things could be worse!
