In a 21st century twist on 'The dog ate my homework' - my phone ate my last two Livejournal posts! I've now realised that it's probably not a good idea to try and update using the LJ mobile site. I've downloaded an app now and will have a go with that when I've got a moment.
Life goes on for me. I've been ridiculously busy over the past few weeks and I'm really glad that I've got a completely free weekend ahead of me. Partly because it means I've finally got some time to track down a replacement smoke alarm (the current one has been beeping every 40 seconds for a month to tell me that it needs replacing) but mainly because I need a rest.
During the past couple of months I've done all this:
I can't believe it's nearly August already. Where has the year gone? My parents are already back from their big summer holiday (I think I only killed one plant through neglect in their absence).
And finally, I've decided to start writing a more public blog on blogger. My LJ has always been mainly public but blocked from search engine spiders. My new blog will be completely public and will focus on reviews rather than the rambling posts about my day to day life that I normally post here. It's here: http://seemoredomore.blogspot.com/. There's nothing much to see at the moment but I intend to start posting this weekend.

- Danced to live African music in a church as part of the Streatham Festival
- Had another curry with work as part of an 'end of project' party
- Saw Basement Jaxx v Metropole Orkfest at The Barbican
- Met baby Finlay James for the first time
- Gave a talk at a conference at the University of Hertfordshire
