I have no idea what happened today. I didn't do much but time passed really quickly. Better than being bored I suppose.

Popped over the road to the chiropodist this afternoon. The reason my toe was hurting so much this week was that a blister had developed under the surface of the verucca. According to the chiropodist this is a good development as it will help to disperse the bad cells. Unfortunately, it is now an open wound so she couldn't put any more treatment on it. I have to go back next week to see whether the skin has healed. At £15 a visit this verucca is getting expensive. On the plus side, at least I won't be limping around next week.

In other bad finanical news my trainers are going to have to be chucked out. Frankly, they stink. Like 90% of my extensive shoe collection they came from New Look. Sadly, none of the cheap clothes shops seem to be selling nice, cheap trainers at present. Canvas slip ons seem to be in fashion. I really need proper trainers as I wear them to walk over a mile each day (and over five miles if I'm feeling really fit) but I want them to be quite smart as I wear them with my work clothes. Hmmmm. May have to venture into Kingston at some point.

I'm clearly not at the school reunion. I guess it's probably almost finished by now. I'm quite looking forward to seeing photos posted on Facebook but I'm glad I didn't go. I don't think the stress of trying to make small talk with that many people would have done me any good. Yes, I'm boring and anti-social but at least I'm happy (kind of).

The weather was lovely today. I didn't make the most of it at all. If my foot had been OK I probably would have gone out running. If it's still nice tomorrow I might be really brave and clean the patio doors leading out onto my balcony. It's a right pain of a job as my balcony is about 2/3rds of a paving slab wide and I have to work around a bucket of water and two large planters. You could probably film me and market it as a sitcom.

I was sad to hear that Chairman Humph has passed on. My parents are massive trad jazz fans and my mother listens to Radio 4 almost 24/7 so Humph featured in my upbringing. I was dragged to see his band in concert at Centrespace in Hounslow as a child and, although I didn't appreciate it much at the time, they were very impressive. Humph's wit was evident as he told joke and annecdotes between songs. He was a truly unique talent.
