So what have I been up to in the 10 days since I last posted? *racks brain*

Well, for starters I completed my first 5 kilometre run last Sunday. It was much hotter and sunnier than I expected it to be so I ended up running about half the way and walking the other half. I completed the distance though and that's what matters. I'm very proud of my completion medal. My parents came and watched and I think they were quite impressed as after 20 odd years of trying to get out of anything vaguely resembling physical exercise I actually made an effort. I'm definitely going to keep running through the winter so I can run the whole way next year. As a bonus the Heart 106.2 roadshow team were there and I was given a free picnic mat/fleece and fan. It was worth turning up just for that! Mum took some photos which I will try and post later. As they were taken by mum I am miles away in each photo (I think I inherited my poor photo composing skills from her) so I need to crop them before posting.

Last Tuesday four of my best girlie friends came round mine to drink the champagne I was given for passing my uni course. It was a shame that the fifth guest couldn't make it because the stupid tube strike had left her stranded in central London. Anyway, three pizzas were consumed, several slices of cheesecake were enjoyed and the champagne was lovely. I hope a good time was had by all. My girlie friends are very lovely.

I spent this morning at the local hospital being poked and prodded. I went to see my GP last week and she decided that I needed a blood test and an ECG primarily to see whether I have a thyroid problem. It was all OK, but pretty time consuming because of all the waiting in line involved. I also got to have a walk around the big Tesco opposite the hospital and ended up purchasing My So-Called Life on DVD. £22 looked like a bit of a bargain to me but I can't really afford it. Oh well.

Last weekend I was bored and purchased two games for my Nintendo DS. The Brain Training game which is advertised by Nicole Kidman and a mystery game called Room 215 Hotel Dusk which reminds me of the Monkey Island type games I used to play on my Commodore Amiga back in the day. Brain Training was a bit of depressing revelation. Apparantly my brain age is 46 - a whole 20 years older than my real age. I have been training hard to try and sort that out but I seem to be getting worse and worse...

I'm really looking forward to watching TV this Friday. Clare is finding out who chucked her over the railings in Hollyoaks (which has been on top form lately - Heat even made it one of their choices for the first time I can remember), I'm finally going to get to see Blink as part of the BBC3 Dr Who re-run and then the ever reliable IT Crowd in the evening. Is it very sad that I'm looking forward to a Friday night in that much?

In other guilty TV secrets I've been watching re-runs of the second series of Dawson's Creek on Five Life. I didn't get into watching Dawsons until Pacey and Joey got together (series 3?) so I've got a fair bit of catching up to do. I don't care what my friends say - I still think Joshua Jackson is cute.

Tomorrow, I'm going late night shopping to try and buy a new winter coat before the nice ones sell out. I find it very difficult to drum up enthusiasm for buying winter clothes when the weather is still warm, but needs must. Last year's coat has literally fallen appart. I had to cut most of the lining out because it was so ripped. I am very tempted by a couple of pairs of shoes in New Look as well. One pair is totally impractical but I may have to invest in them anyway.

I can't believe it's only Wednesday. Roll on the weekend!
