Thanks for the chilli related comments. I think I'll try and cook it in the oven next time as my oven seems to produce better results than my hob.
I spent a lovely fifteen minutes cleaning the pan this afternoon. Big soggy black lumps of burn quorn and onions, yum!
Around 11pm yesterday evening, when I'd just about recovered from the chilli disappointment, the people in the flat above started having a party. The music commenced with the latest Scissor Sisters album and progressed into classic late 90s house tracks. The music also got progressively louder. By 1am I felt like I was actually in the party. By this time several of my neighbours were yelling comments such as 'turn it down mate' from their balconies. This did not have any effect whatsoever. The music was finally turned down at about twenty to two. It didn't help me much though as being directly below I could still hear everything. Goodness knows what time I got to sleep but I clearly didn't get enough shut eye. I've been ratty and tearful all day. Hopefully, they won't be tempted to have another party until the next bank holiday weekend.
This morning my bad mood was intesified by noisy primary school age running around our courtyard. My block of flats is not designed for kids to live in. It consists of 93 'affordable' flats. Three quarters have only one bedroom and therefore do not contain any children. The rest have two bedrooms and very few of them have kids living in them. At weekends however, lots of kids seem to be around. I guess some are the children of 'weekend dads' and some are visiting relatives. They run around the walkways and courtyard garden slamming all the doors and shouting to one another. Because it's all enclosed it echoes and makes so much noise. Normally, I don't mind but this morning it got on my already frazzled mind. Just shows you what lack of sleep can do to you...
A fair proportion of tonight's episode of Dr Who was filmed at 'The Museum of Welsh Life' in St Fagans. I've been there!
