The last Monday...
May. 22nd, 2006 06:49 pmMy title requires some clarification. It's not the actual 'the last Monday' ever (or at least I hope it's not) but just the last Monday I have to attend uni this academic year. In three weeks time I hand in my assignments and then nothing until September. That's not entirely true as I have to work on my management report over the summer vacation, but I don't actually have to sit in a classroom again until September. I feel a bit sorry for most of my classmates who have to re-sit their first semester exams in a couple of weeks time though.
The weekend was fairly quiet. Went and had a drink with my sister and her friends on Saturday night and accidentally accused someone I'd never met before of being a chef when he's actually an aeronautical engineer! I think my sister must've told me he was a good cook at some point and I somehow convinced myself that he was a chef. Very embarrassing. My sister likes the PS2 Singstar I gave her for her birthday. Her boyfriend commented that their neighbours had already had enough of it though!
On Sunday I managed to get 'The Sims' running on my new PC with 'The Sims on Holiday' expansion pack. This involved a very gentle and time consuming process of clean booting the system and temporarily disabling various background tasks. Then I installed 'The Sims Superstar' and it all went wrong again. The installation was fine but when I tried to run it the screen jumped around all over the place, so now I'm going to have to un-install the whole lot as you can't just un-install an expansion pack on it's own. Grrrr.
Missed Dr Who completely on Saturday night so I don't know what happened. Will have to go to the BBC website to check.
No word from Cardiff Bloke this weekend. Hopefully he's not dead or anything.
