The weekend again...
May. 12th, 2006 08:05 pmI'm listening to 'Living for the Weekend' by Hard Fi at the moment which is ironic as I'm not going anywhere this weekend. Oh well, at least I'll get plenty of uni work done. Also I'm going to see a play called 'Oh Kay' tomorrow night so I guess I'm technically going somewhere even if it is with my parents. 'Oh Kay' was written by George Gershwin and P. G. Wodehouse which seems like a good sign, although the fact I'd never heard of it before I booked the tickets makes me a bit suspicious.
There's a really tiny interview with Todd Carty (Mark Fowler in 'Eastenders' if you're my age and Tucker Jenkins in 'Grange Hill' if you're a bit older) in this week's Radio Times. He says that reunion episodes featuring the original Grange Hill cast are in the pipeline. Go nostalgia TV! Maybe there's a chance of a 'Press Gang' reunion yet. Anyway, my 'Grange Hill' era ranges from the infamous Zammo McGuire 'Just Say No' storyline which must've been around 1987 (when I was 6 years old!) through the Callie (actress had an affair with Michael Winner & did a kiss and tell), Georgina, Ronnie, Gonch (played by 'Sarah from Press Gang's brother), Trevor, Ziggy and Robbie (John Alford, drugs scandal, now working on building site) era on to Justine, Tegs (Sean McGuire was my sister's tween crush) and the twins (one of whom went out with Declan Donnelly for ages). Then there was Desmond Askew (now a Hollywood star) and his gang although I can't remember their names and after that it all gets a bit hazy. I guess I watched regularly for 15 years in all.
Ah kids nostalgia TV! Certainly better than being a grown up and having to work until 5pm every night.
