Good News...
Mar. 17th, 2006 10:17 pmAfter yesterday's miserable entry I'm considerably happier today. Following my fruitless trip to Ealing I arrived home to find my exam results sitting in the living room. The good news is that I've passed stage one of my CIPD qualification. The pass mark is 50% for all subjects at Masters level and I got 71%, 68%, 60% and 52%. Obviously the 52% is just scraping through but it was a really difficult subject which everyone in the class found tough so I'm just glad I don't have to take the exam again in May. These results have really spurred me on to do well in my June assignments. Even Cardiff bloke made the effort to text his congratulations. Now I'm worried in case everyone else in my class failed and they'll hate me because I passed. I think I'll be strategically late to avoid the pre lesson small talk.
In other news it was a very quiet day at work as three of my six colleagues were out on a training course. I quite like it when the girl who does the post is off as I get to open the letters. The perfect job for a reallynosey curious person like me!
Ahhhh 'Blue Monday' has just started playing. What a great track.
'Hotel Babylon' was much missed this week but the 9pm on Thursday night slot should improve significantly next week as 'The Family Man' is starting. I may have mentioned the show before as it features Lee Ross (Kenny in Press Gang). Lee, who seems to primarily be a stage actor these days, was last seen on TV being thumped by main characters of 'Life on Mars'. Hopefully, this will be a role which allows him to showcase his undeniable acting talent to a greater extent. This week's Radio Times says that "Lee Ross is outstanding" and who am I to argue with that esteemed publication! 'The Family Man' also features some other great actors like Lennie James (he's in 24 Hour Party People y'know), Daniela Denby-Ashe, Claire Skinner and Trevor Eve.
I'm still listening to the '24 Hour Party People' soundtrack a lot. The Happy Mondays are bit like The Beastie Boys to me. I don't know why I like their music but I really do :S
