(Still) feeling hot, hot, hot
Jun. 24th, 2005 09:59 pmDespite the fact that it stormed this afternoon it's still boiling in this house. I hate thunderstorms, they really frighten me. I prefer them during the day to being woken up by them at night though.
I haven't been enjoying the heat much. I woke up with an itchy rash on my feet and hands on Monday morning which was really annoying. On Wednesday I started sneezing and couldn't stop so I went and got some hayfever tablets. Since I've been taking the tablets the rash has gone but I've scratched my foot so now I've got a huge red scratch mark instead :( I've also got a sore throat. Goodness knows where I picked that up from. OK, the minor ailment whinge is now over.
I forgot to write about the sad demise of my lovely camel coloured, military style summer jacket. I was walking home from Brownies last Tuesday night and as I stepped through my parents' front door one of the metal buttons got caught on the narrow metal doorframe (we've got one of those hollow metal front doors) and my coat ripped right down the front. The tear is about 10 cms long and right at the front so I don't think invisible mending is an option as there will still be a noticable line. I'm quite upset about this as I'd only had the jacket about 6 weeks. I'm now back to wearing the old denim jacket with faded cuffs which the new coat was meant to be replacing :( Oddly, for the middle of a heatwave, there aren't many jackets in the shops at the moment.
I'm fed up with 'Bustin' Out' now as I kept getting stuck at level 4 (as I was too miserable for anyone to want to marry me!) and started playing the PS2 version of the original Sims game instead. I was getting along better up until today, now I'm having similar problems. I threw a party but I can't work out how to make it qualify to be a 'wild party'! I may have to hit some hint websites in the very near future.
I also had a crack at playing Sonic Heros. It's a lot more complicated than the old Sonic games but Sonic is just as fast. I'd forgotten that Sonic was quick whilst Super Mario was a plodder.
It worries me that I'm not getting far with many of these games. I just keep giving up and trying new ones all the time. Maybe all the gaming over the years has completely frazzled my concentration span.
