I now have my £7.50 ASDA tent. As
keladeekadys pointed out it will probably turn into a sieve if it rains but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that next Saturday evening will be warm and dry. I'm very proud that I managed to put it up all by myself in my parents' garden this afternoon. The instructions state that two people are required to errect it so I'm dead pleased. Girl power! It's really, really small and I can only stretch out if I lay diagonally across but it is totally fit for purpose. I will just have to buy another one if I ever decide to go camping with anyone else. Also reclaimed my big backpacking backpack from my old wardrobe at my parents' place. Hopefully all ready to go for next weekend now. Must remember to take my torch and some spare batteries though.
Haven't achieved much else today other than tidying and hoovering the flat and buying a few tops from Dorothy Perkins.
Currently mentally psyching myself up for the Paris trip. I think I'm going to have to buy a French phrase book so I can remind myself how to order stuff in restaurants and buy tickets etc. Not that I'm going to have much spare time when I'm over there but hopefully I'll get a few hours to myself in the evenings to explore a bit.
Listening to This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars at the moment. Jared Leto is such a great singer but it does amuse me that their songs are so miserable. He always comes across as being a really happy person from his blog. Still live in hope of finding someone to accompany me to their concert at the O2 in November but think my chances are pretty limited. My friends aren't generally interested in miserable bands with a fanbase largely around 13 years old!
