The Return...
Oct. 31st, 2009 10:23 pmI'm back. Lincoln was lovely. I'll write about it in detail another time.
The good news is that I'm no longer required to attend the Employment Tribunal on Monday. The solicitors have decided that they don't need me to give evidence after all. However, they forgot to tell me so I only found out from an email I read yesterday evening. I've already booked annual leave for Monday so I've got a spare day off. I'm sure I'll be able to find a way to occupy myself. I feel relieved. Hopefully, this means I can draw a line under my old job and look to the future. I can now look forward to fireworks next week then birthdays and Christmas without anything nasty hanging over me.
I wasted today by watching The Sarah Jane Adventures and trying to complete Lego Batman on my DS. I also watched Strictly for the first time this season and thought the quality was very high. I thought it was quite amusing that Ricky Whittle's ex-RAF father insisted on calling him Richard throughout his interview.
Before I went away I watched 'Clerks' for the first time. I'm currently watching Kevin Smith's movies in completely the wrong order. I saw 'Dogma' (number four) back when it was first released on DVD. Then I saw 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' (number five) on TV a couple of years ago. Lovefilm sent me 'Mallrats' (number two) last month and I just watched 'Clerks' (number one). 'Chasing Amy' (number three) and 'Clerks II' (number six) are both on my Lovefilm list so I'm bound to get them in the wrong order too (although I'd prefer them to send me the last DVD of Dawson's Creek as I've already had the penultimate one!) Anyway, I liked 'Clerks'. It's an easy movie to watch and it made me laugh out loud. I love crossovers and spotting the references to events from the the other movies. I also love things which take place in carefully created 'other worlds' so the View Askewniverse is very enjoyable. I even laughed out loud a few times.
According to the forecast this crazy, unseasonal weather will end tomorrow. I'm kind of glad, but will annoyed if it is windy next week. It is soooo warm at the moment. I went out to Tesco wearing a short sleeved t-shirt, a cardie and a coat and was much too hot. Also, a bedding plant a planted in a pot on my balcony back in May is still in flower. I gave it it's monthly dose of Baby Bio before I went away and when I returned four days later it was covered in flowers. Very confusing.
The Sarah Jane Adventures guest starred that David Tennant chap this week. If any Dr Who fans didn't watch it, I'd advise you to catch it on iPlayer. I love K-9 so much. Everyone should have a robot dog which detects aliens!
