I used to like travelling by train...

My regular readers may remember that I had a bit of bad luck with the train home last Friday.  My bad luck has continued.  This evening I caught the tube to Richmond as usual then hopped out for a quick look around the shops.  When I arrived back at the station at 6pm they had roped off the South West Trains platforms.  It turned out that there was a broken rail in the Twickenham area and there were no trains 'until further notice'.  Consequently I had to catch a bus all the way home from Richmond.  What is usually a 15 minute journey on the train took 1 hour on the bus.  My journey wasn't helped by a broken down bus in Richmond town centre which had forced the traffic down to one lane.  Additionally, the bloke who sat next to me clearly felt that one seat wasn't adequate and seemed determined to take up most of mine as well.  Urgh!

Touch wood the trains seem to be running OK at the moment.  Watch this space for tomorrows exciting installment!
