Don't stop me now...
Apr. 21st, 2009 10:41 pmOur choir has it's first concert on Thursday evening. We are now called the 'Shrieking Violets'. I am happy to confirm that I had absolutely nothing to do with the choice of name. Our performance forms part of the entertainment in the Mayor of Hounslow's end of term celebration. I've not met the Mayor but our choir tutor has informed us that she has been known to wear socks with sandals to official engagements. It should be interesting. Some of my fellow choir members (I think choristors would be a bit of a generous description!) haven't been on stage before and are extremely nervous. I'm not that worried. My problem tends to be that I go hyper on adreneline and then mess things up. I'm going to try and be on my best behaviour, especially as I'm standing right at the front. The Principal is tiny and has somehow managed to position herself right behind me!
Tomorrow I'm on a course near Kings Cross. Registration is a 9.15am so I have to meet my colleague at 8am at Hounslow East station. That's way too early for me. I don't normally leave the house until 8.20am. Also, I have a choir rehearsal at 4.45pm so instead of knocking off early after the training I have to make my way back to work. Bother! At least I'll get a free lunch out of it.
