It's an omen...
Jan. 18th, 2009 10:49 pmI was exhausted yesterday evening. I don't really know why as I hadn't had a particularly active day. The fact that I'd forgotten to turn off my alarm clock and it woke me up at 7am may have had something to do with it. Anyway, despite my tiredness the lure of the exclusive first showing of the new Prodigy video (at 12.05am on C4) was too much to resist. I really like the track. It seems that they are finally returning to their electronica roots. One album later than the great Mr Howlett promised but better than not at all. I don't know who is doing the vocals (it's certainly not Keith or Maxim) but it sounds like it could be an Emo rock type singer. The whole thing reminded me very much of recent Pendulum stuff, not least because the video was filmed at Brixton Academy which is where I saw Pendulum play last year. In fact thinking about it, it may be Pendulum's vocalist doing the singing. The singer seems to have an accent which isn't American. It could well be Aussie. The video itself looks cheap and dirty. Really just filming done at the recent Brixton gig (which I will kick myself forever for missing) and a strange, creapy little girl who looks like Wednesday Addams playing the Xylophone. I guess they really are going back to their roots. It's absolutely ages since Prodigy released a video featuring live footage (we don't mention 'Baby's Got a Temper'). I think I like 'Invaders must Die' better but I'm not complaining about this one. I might even buy it.
I now have my birthday pressies from my family. I got Lego Batman on DS from my sis and her future hubby, Lego Indiana Jones on PS2 from my Uncle and a DAB radio, calender and box set of This Life on DVD from my parents. Not a bad stash really.
On Saturday I'm going wedding dress shopping with my sis. She doesn't want a floor length dress which I think is going to make life a bit tricky as floor length seems to be in at the moment. I'm looking forward to the search though as I love shopping.
Further bad news on the Great Auntie front. My Great Auntie Pat who lives in Minto, New Brunswick, Canada is now seriously ill. She's 87 so it is no big shock but I'm still sad. She's a lovely lady and has always been very generous to me despite being so far away.
PS. Can someone clever please tell me how to imbed a YouTube video on LJ. I'm too dim to figure it out by myself. Cheers.
