i_just_hide: (Prodigy - Wind it Up - Leeroy)
My friends' wedding takes place a week on Saturday. I'm soooo excited. My outfit is finally coming together. I've ordered these shoes to arrive later this week. My work colleague who is a little over 5 foot tall gave me a lecture about how tall girls shouldn't wear massive heels today. I am going to dwarf the bride, the groom and pretty much everyone else. Oh well! Now I just need to buy jewellry, a bag and a wedding card. I also need to get my hair done but I'm kind of avoiding thinking about that right now. I also need to liaise with my friends to sort out the logistics of the day. Six of us need to get from London to Hampshire. We then need to meet up with the partner of one of the bridesmaids. Get seven of us from the hotel to the church which is in a different village. Then get seven of us from the church to the reception venue which is a different village again. Then get eight of us from the reception venue back to the hotel. I think we're going to have to hire a minibus. As usual it's been left to the last minute and I'm beginning to panic. I'm really hoping someone will offer me a lift down to Hampshire as I'll really struggle to get my dress down there on the train.

I put a few hen night photos on Facebook if anyone wants to see me wearing a brunette afro wig.

In further wedding news my sister and her fiance have almost confirmed their wedding date. They'll know it for sure after tomorrow. It looks like they'll now be getting married in July which is a weight off of my mind as I was worried they would pick the same date as my friend who is getting married in May in the New Forest. I can't wait to start looking for my bridesmaid dress. I'm already dreading organising the hen night. My sis attended her future sis-in-law's hen do last weekend and they had specially printed t-shirts and everything. I'm also a bit nervous about organising an event for a load of my sister's friends who I don't even know. Especially as my sis has already invited my mum. I'm thinking positive though - it'll all be fine :)

Last weekend was all about shopping. On Friday afternoon I was on a course at The University of Westminster in Baker Street. It finished at 4pm so it seemed rude not to take advantage of my work funded travelcard and take a trip to Oxford Street. I worshipped at my chosen temple of Top Shop in Oxford Circus and actually bought something for once. Normally I find it too chaotic and crazy to make a decision but this time I stuck it out. I also wandered around Selfridges for a bit and admired the designer handbags from a respectful distance. Then I wandered down to the new mega Primark which was hideously crowded. I love Oxford Street, I just wish it wasn't so crowded & full of strolling tourists all the time.

On Saturday, me and mum went to John Lewis in Kingston in search of curtains for my living room. At the moment I only have vertical blind over my balcony doors and it's more like a net than a curtain. I've now decided that I need proper curtains to keep the warmth in during the winter and the light out on sunny days. I never realised that buying curtains was so complicated. I'm going to have to have them made as they are going to need to be pleated in a certain way and it's going to be really expensive :(

I'm on another course tomorrow. This one is near Waterloo so at least the travelling is easy. It goes on all day so free lunch! It finishes at 4.30pm so hopefully I'll be back in plenty of time for Brownies.

In slightly random news, one of my photos has been chosen to placed in the Schmap guide to London. It was found on my Flickr account and I recieved an email asking whether I minded if they used it. I thought it was a wind up but it wasn't. If you follow this link and click through the Streatham Common photos on the right hand side you will eventually come to one of a big white house under the name xdragongirlx. That's my one. I'm really pleased that it was chosen even though it is clearly just a way for them to get free photos. Normally I can't even take photos in focus!

That's all for now. I'm off to do some ironing because my life is so exciting!
