Today didn't quite go as planned. The illness I've been trying my best to fight off all week returned. My legs felt really shakey when I was walking down to the sorting office this morning. Additionally, it was tipping it down so I decided not to go to Kingston. As a result I spent most of the day sitting on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. I managed to eat a massive biriyani this evening so I'm hoping I'll feel well enough to venture to Kingston then.

I have my ebay purchase. The game is quite good although I don't think it will take long to finish. I'm a bit cross with Royal Mail because the package was easily small enough to fit in my letter box but they didn't attempt to deliver it anyway. I've always been a staunch supporter of Royal Mail but they've been getting right on my wick lately.

The second disk of the second series of Drop the Dead Donkey has now gone back to Lovefilm. I'm really enjoying the series so far. I didn't start watching it first time around until after Haydn Gwynne had left and she left after series two so I should soon get to some episodes I remember shortly. Admittedly some of the topical jokes fall a bit flat nearly 20 years after the event but it's still a really funny show. Especially Damien's dodgy reports. I do wonder why Globelink news only seems to have one reporter though... It's really interesting spotting now famous actors in some of their first TV roles. Phillip Glenister popped up as a policeman who accidentally shoots a little girl's rabbit in one episode. Press Gang connections also go further than the newsteam focus and talking over the credits. Charlie Creed-Miles (Danny), Louisa Millwood-Haigh (Yvonne Morley) and Penelope Nice (Lynda's Mum) all make guest appearances.

I spent this evening watching the Eurovision Dance Contest and I hate to admit that I really enjoyed it. Some of the dances were hilarious, especially the Irish one. I voted for Ukraine as the 'non-dancer' was the brilliant former gymnast Lilia Podkapyava. Poland won in the end and Great Britain weren't last (although they should have finished higher than they did). I got a bit fed up with the girls' dresses being ripped off to reveal a skimpier costume after about the sixth country tried it. That was one of the reasons I voted for Ukraine as they stayed fully clothed throughout. Team GB did too but I wasn't allowed to vote for them. Len Goodman and Craig Revell-Horwood filled the 'Terry Wogan' role and did a jolly good job. They didn't even attempt to hide their support for team GB and happily slagged off Ireland & Poland for failing to give 12 points to Team GB. The only bad bit was Claudia Winkleman's dress which didn't seem to fit her. Her boobs were spilling out all over the place and it was so tight in around the waste she looked like she was struggling to breathe. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.
