This evening I experienced the worst bit of TV acting I've seen for a long while. An oak tree could have produced a less wooden performance than the woman who played the Chief Executive in Holby. Admittedly she was a fairly minor character and was only on screen for about ten minute before she resigned and stormed off but this was the BBC for goodness sake. Surely they could have found someone better.

In other news, I went to the Design Museum near Tower Bridge today with my friend who is currently unemployed. We did one of the two for one when you travel by train offers so we got in for £3.50 each. Only one of the galleries was open which was a bit of a shame but it was still interesting . A general exhibition of all the winners of the Brit Insurance Design Awards was on. It covered categories as diverse as transport, art, fashion and typography. We got to play with an interactive art installation in which you took a one second video of yourself and added it to lots of other videos being played on a loop. Some of the things on display were a bit weird. The new cover for the Penguin Classic edition of Little Women actually made me quite cross. However, it was quite interesting to realise how much is actually 'designed'. I never really think about the design effort which goes into things like fonts and shop direction signs. I left feeling slightly more educated than when I went in so it was worth the money.

After the museum we had lunch in All Bar One by the river and then caught the train to Piccadilly where my friend had an appointment. I walked from Piccadilly to Covent Garden to look for an acceptance card for my friend's wedding. I looked in the windows of all the expensive clothes shops and felt slightly bitter that I couldn't afford anything. That's why I don't go into Central London very often. I didn't find a card that I liked which is a pain as I was determined to be the first to accept. Then I walked back to Waterloo (via The Freemasons Hall aka Thames House in Spooks) and caught the train home. I'm now in a panic because we're leaving at 10am tomorrow morning and I'm not organised at all. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a nice couple of days and I'll catch up with y'all on Friday afternoon.
