It's been ages since I did a proper update so this one's cut for length...
( Victory! )
( The Parcel Saga )
( The Rent Statement Debacle )
( Travels with my Brownies )
Where has all the decent TV gone? Strictly Come Dancing was the only decent thing on tonight. Serves me right for staying in on a Saturday night I guess. Aleesha to win. I'm only saying that because I was a big Mis-Teeq fan though. As long as Penny Lancaster-Stewart doesn't win I'll be happy.
And on the subject of TV, what is the point of the Dave channel? It has replaced UKTV History (which has moved to the channel previously occupied by UKTV Bright Ideas) and appears to just be continuous repeats of old BBC2 programmes with a few old episodes of 'Whose Line is it Anyway' chucked in for good measure. I know it's aimed at blokes ('everyone knows a bloke called Dave' as the ads say) but do we really need another channel of repeats on Freeview? The ad is wrong by the way. My friend at work assures me that she doesn't know anyone called Dave. I probably cancel her out though as I know several. Oh, and Virgin One has replaced Ftn. Virgin One seems to consist of repeats and episodes of the dodgy Eddie Izzard US drama 'The Ritches'. Ftn was dreadful (although I must admit to enjoying old episodes of The Krypton Factor and Gladiators) but I think Virgin One is worse. It seems to just be BBC2 from five years ago. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air followed by Deep Space Nine. Have BBC2 recently sold off the rights to all their old shows or something? Actually, bearing in mind the financial difficulties claimed by the BBC they probably have.
I love broadband. I watched a whole episode of Pigeon Street last night. It is genious. I loved it. I also watched a 1990s CBBC indent starring Andy Crane, Edd the Duck and Wilson the Butler. It brought back so many happy memories. Andy spoke to the Blue Peter Gallery and asked them to send up some carrot cake. They thanked the person who provided that week's 'window' picture, Edd was going on about wanting to be a Blue Peter Presenter, Andy said goodbye to viewers in Northern Ireland a few minutes early, Yvette Fielding turned up with the cake, advert for Fast Forward magazine (which I had every week as a pre-teen)with Kylie and Jason on the cover, standard BBC ident and then.. . Neighbours complete with old theme tune. It took me back to a happier place.
Right that's it from me. No doubt I'll be back tomorrow with more.
