Yesterday, I took one of my few remaining days of annual leave. My flat was due to be inspected for snagging at some time between 8am and 4pm and in a rare example of organisation I had arranged for my new TV to be delivered in the afternoon. I'd done the maths and concluded that they would have to inspect at least four flats before mine so I didn't need to be ready until 8.30am at the earliest. This was a mistake. Several of my neighbours were out so the inspectors turned up at 8.15am. I was still in my dressing gown and had to ask them to come back later. This was a wee bit embarrasing as I had answered the door in my dressing gown to five middle aged building inspectors and then had to show them all around my flat half an hour later. The building inspectors left after twenty minutes, having promised to fix my cracked tiles, cracked plaster and scratched front door. I then had to wait for the Argos man. I had horrible visions of sitting in all day and him not turning up until 6pm. Fortunately, he turned up at 3pm. I was once again a bit embarrassed as I had ordered a TV which I easily could have carried around the corner from Argos. I'd forgotten that flat screen TVs are tiny and very light and as a result I paid £4.95 for a delivery I didn't need. Oh well. The TV is fantastic. It has replaced the Nintendo DS as my favourite toy. I now have Freeview and I can watch things in widescreen. Freeview has already enabled me to watch the second half of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (I forgot it was on until 10.30), Carry on Behind (which I've seen 3 times before) and Theives Like Us (which was rubbish). It's not all bad though as I've also watched the last two episodes of the first series of New Who which I enjoyed a great deal. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up. I literally only had to press one button on the remote and it tuned in all the analogue and digital channels in a couple of minutes. Amazing! I can't believe that only 8 years ago I went to uni and had to manually tune my TV. Now I just have to retrieve my VCR from mum and dad's and I'm sorted.

After the TV turned up I went down to mum and dad's to check that all was well. It was a good job I went as the paperboy had left the local paper sticking out of the front door. If I hadn't gone that day he may has well have stuck a sign on the door saying 'we're on holiday - please burgle us'. The house was fine. I watered the plants and filled up the bird feeders. Unfortunately, the bunny rabbit plants mum recently put in the front garden have been attacked by slugs but there wasn't much I could've done about that.

Today was OK as well. I tried my first Cornetto Chocolate disc which was an enjoyable experience although I think I prefer the mint ones. I also decided that to make up for munching a calorie filled ice cream I'd walk home from work. The distance between my home and work is 6 miles and it took about an hour and a half. I thought that was quite good going for a first attempt. I'll definitely try and do it a couple of days a week during the summer months. It will save on bus fares at least.

I'm loving Star Stories at the moment. Simon Cowell was parodied tonight and I laughed my head off. It's such a quote fest, I wish I could remember them afterwards.

Ooooh, Max and OB from Hollyoaks are on Big Brother's Big Mouth tonight. I still don't think I can be bother to watch it though. Did I mention that I'm only two friends removed from them on Facebook? I'm so pathetic!
