i_just_hide: (Prodigy - Wind it Up - Leeroy)
Regular readers may recall that the people in the flat above mine can be a bit noisy at times. The noise usually takes the form of loud music being played for about an hour after closing time on Friday nights. I'm the type of person who stays up late so it doesn't normally bother me too much.

Last night the noisy behaviour took a disturbing turn. I was woken up by loud house music clearly coming from the flat above. Initially I thought it must be around 1am and they'd just returned from a night out but a glance at the clock informed me that it was actually 4.20am. The music continued and then loud banging began from directly above. It wasn't the dull thud of people walking around, it sounded more like someone was bashing a hammer on the ceiling. Then the banging from above stopped and more banging started from the right hand side of the flat. I couldn't tell whether the second set of banging was coming from upstairs or from, the usually very quiet, flat next door. The banging from above then started again. After about three songs the music stopped and there was silence. It was all a bit confusing for me in my half awake state. I've been trying to figure out what was going on and I've decided that the banging was either someone doing something horrible to someone else or the people above banging on the floor because they though the music was coming from my flat. We shall see what happens this evening.

In other news, I traipsed around Kingston this evening looking for a birthday gift for my friend. I am fed up with being poor. I want a new handbag from River Island but I can't justify paying £49.99 for one and I've just seen a really nice top for £19.99 but I can't afford that either. I was paid on 25th August and most of my 'luxury' budget has been spent already thanks to several meals out and a birthday do. It's a good job I'm proficient at amusing myself for free.

In completely unconnected news, I know that the whole thing about Chris Langham being convicted of viewing child pornography is a bad thing. I don't dispute how bad it is, however, I don't really think the story is deserving of the headline on newsnight. I'm sure there are other things going on in the world today which deserve coverage more.
