Yep, I'm still here. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the ability to write coherent sentences of late. Every time I've tried to write an LJ entry I've given it up as a bad job. However, if at first you don't succeed and all that...

I went to visit my friend last night. She is on an individual mission to ruin my way of identifying my friends in this journal. I usually identify people by the place they live i.e. 'my Wimbledon friend'. Unfortunately, during the four years I've been writing this journal, the friend in question has lived in Clapham, Reigate and has recently moved to Tooting! Perhaps I should just start referring to her as 'my friend who moves house alot'. Anyway, I digress...

As stated above, my friend recently moved to Tooting so I went to have a nose around her new flat. It's a very nice flat on the top floor of what was once a very grand Victorian house. My gripe with flats in converted houses is that they often have very wierd layouts dictated by the shape of the property rather than anything vaguely resembling logic, however this flat was actually laid out very well. The sofas provided by the landlord are massive leather things you could disappear into. I approve!

My friend cooked an excellant Thai green curry for me and her lovely flatmate and then we settled down to watch 'Layer Cake'. What a strange movie that is. I watched the first hour and a quarter and had very little idea what was going on. My friend's flatmate was enjoying the presence of Daniel Craig but he doesn't really do it for me I'm afraid. Dexter Fletcher had a small role, sporting a very passable upper class accent at one stage. I didn't have much of a clue what he was doing either but he was part of a double act with Steve John Shepherd and had very big hair. I missed the end because I had to catch the bus home but my friend texted me later to say she saw the end and still didn't understand.

It must be the week of the surreal movie as I watched 'American Psycho' on Saturday night and didn't understand that either. Jared Leto was in it though and I thought Samantha Mathis turned in a good performance.

Other than that, life goes on. I get paid tomorrow which can't be a bad thing, especially as I'm having my hair highlighted on Saturday. I need new shoes for the summer as well, and new work shirts, and some cropped black trousers - aaarrrggghhh - I don't have the money for all this. I've got a phone bill to pay too.

My sister, her boyfriend and a big gang of their friends have gone to Glastonbury. I am extremely jealous, but I didn't have enough money to go with them. She's taken the pair of wellington boots I wore the last time I went to Guide camp (1995). They have the name and the name of my Guide company written on the outside in Tippex. I'm sure she will be responsible for starting a new hippie trend! Even so, I hope it doesn't rain too much. They've paid out a lot of money and I'd hate them to waste it by ending up drenched in a mud bath. A girl I knew at uni had a friend who got trench foot after a particularly rainy Glastonbury.

I have two and a half days annual leave to last me until 1st September. The half day will probably be spent at the dentist. Mum and Dad have invited me to join them on holiday for a weekend so I was planning on taking the Friday and Monday off so I could travel on Thursday when it's cheaper. Now I'm not sure that I should do this in case I need to take any more time for any reason I haven't yet thought of. Decisions, decisions. The worst thing is that I didn't use my leave having fun or resting, I used it studying. It will be even worse if I fail my exams. I will have wasted my annual leave on nothing.

I'm loving the car advert where they make a car out of sweet things. I have no idea which car it's for and I'm not in the market for buying a car, so it's failed on that count. I just think it's clever.

That's all for now. I might try and write something a bit more inspiring over the weekend.
