Random update...

It's cold. I went to uni in a shirt and cotton jacket and I was freezing. So freezing that I almost gave up after the first lecture and came home. I stuck it out though.

The Eurovision Song Contest was a bit of a joke wasn't it! There's no way that Serbia should have won. However, I was immediately prejudiced against their song as I hate ballads in any shape, form or language. I voted for Georgia as their song had a bit of a drum and bass edge and the singer had an impressive voice. I've always felt a bit sorry for Georgia since I found out it was where Stalin was born and he went back home and massacured thousands of people there. Possibly not a valid reason for voting for a country in a song contest. Voting was odd as usual. Everyone's going on about countries voting for their neighbours. Even non-neighbours seemed to be voting for the wailing Serbian woman though. It's a shame we Brits can't get on with our near neighbours (France, Holland etc.) or maybe we could gang up on the Scandinavian, Baltic and Russian blocs. I though we were a bit mean not giving Ireland any points, even though they were rubbish. To be honest I was disappointed the tin foil clad Ukranian didn't win. At least he/she embodied the eccentric nature of Eurovision. The Serbian entry was just bland in every way.

As a kid I was never allowed to watch Eurovision. Not because my parents felt it was a bad influence on me (like they did anything shown on ITV) but because they felt it was 'a total load of rubbish' and they didn't want to watch it (we only had one TV). I saw my first Eurovision at my best friend's house when I was about 13 and for some reason morbid curiosity now causes me to waste a Saturday watching it every single year.

And they voted Rob off of 'Any Dream Will Do'. He was my favourite. The rest are way too smug for my liking.
