Today is the first day of my final semester at TVU. I am studying two modules this term: 'Employee Resourcing' and 'Employee Relations'. 'Employee Relations' did not start well. The lecturer informed us that it was essential that we all attended Session 14 as we would be assessed on an activity which would be held in that class. Someone quickly realised that Session 14 is 28th May which is Bank Holiday Monday. Cue angst for the lecturer. Surely they should've realised that it was Bank Holiday before they started the course! We then went on to look at the Module Study Guide which said at one point to turn to page 22 which didn't exist! In fact the last three pages in the book were numbered 15,18,20! Oh dear. Got some puzzled looks from my classmates when I knew that The Russian Revolution was the world event in 1917 which changed the face of Employee Relations for ever. Not sure I've ever told them that I studied history. Haven't told them that I have Marxist leanings either. I'm sure that will come up at some point in this module.
Otherwise, I've hurt my upper back. I don't know how, but I'm blaming my mattress. It was expensive and supposedly semi-orthapedic but I don't think it's firm enough. Tut. I need to take up pilates I think.
