When I ordered some furniture at Argos last Friday I had a nagging feeling that the assistant didn't really know what he was doing. I really would've been better off ordering online or over the phone but my home town has just been urban regenerated and we now have proper shops for the first time, like, ever so I wanted to support them. The assistant asked me whether I wanted the stuff to be delivered between 7am - 12pm or between 12pm - 6pm. I opted for 12pm - 6pm as I'm not currently living at the flat and I didn't fancy having to leave the house at 6.45am and walking for 15 mins to get there. The assistant then said the slot wasn't available so I'd have to make do with the morning. Fine. When the receipt was printed it stated that they'd be delivering between 12pm - 6pm. Confused. Anyway, he said they'd phone to confirm the time so I waited patiently. I still hadn't received a call by lunch time today so I phoned customer services. It transpired that one of my items, a dining table, is an Argos Direct product which is delivered by a different company to the rest of my products which are just normal Argos stock. The normal Argos stock can only be delivered in the morning whilst the table was scheduled to be delivered in the afternoon. Really, the assistant should have told me this so I could've asked for both to come in the morning. Now I'm potentially stuck in an almost empty flat all day waiting for stuff to be delivered. My plan to go shopping with my parents in the morning to grab blinds and a mirror are now scuppered. Great!

On the plus side I managed to buy a beautiful pair of lined purple curtains in the Debenhams blue cross sale reduced from £60 to £25. Now I just need a curtain pole.

Nothing else very exciting has happened since I last posted. It's all been about the flat really. Looking forward to Julia Sawalha's 'Who do you think you are?' next Wednesday. Watched Extras, Mitchell and Webb and Mock the Week yesterday night and didn't enjoy any of them. I'm still rating Arrested Development though.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] _mardybum_ for sending back my Maid Marian DVD. I'm tempted to invest in series two when the finances have sorted themselves out.
