Earlier on this evening my parents were watching a really depressing programme on Channel 4 entitled 'The Doomsday Code'. It was about born again Christians in the USA and their theories about how the world will be ending pretty soon. I don't believe in god so according to them I'll be going to hell. This doesn't bother me as I don't believe in heaven and hell either. However, what does bother me is they think that the world is on a pre ordained course towards apocalypse and that global warming is all part of it. They don't care of course because they think they'll be collected and taken to heaven before the apocalypse begins. There was some poor environmentalist from Texas saying that when he leaflets people think that he's the bearer of good news because he's showing that they'll soon be going to heaven. I try my hardest to be environmentally friendly but what's the point if a large number of people in the most powerful and most energy consuming country in the world are happily encouraging global warming? And of course the people who suffer the most are those in the third world who know nothing about the way people in the rich west are destroying the world.

On a brighter note I received a letter from my solicitor yesterday stating that she hopes to complete within the next week. The lease has to be changed because of the problems with the postcode (the sellers told me the wrong one!) so once that's done it's all steam ahead. Dad took me to MFI today and I've found a bed and mattress deal for £350 and it's beech effect which will match the doors. I've almost sorted out what furniture I'm getting now but the first thing to sort out are blinds and curtains, especially for my bedroom window. Otherwise, the commuters waiting at the station in the morning will be able to see me getting out of bed. Not a pretty sight!

Went out with my friend to celebrate her PhD last night. Felt a bit left out because everyone else was in a couple but they were all very nice. We spent the evening in a pub called The Waterfront on Streatham Common which serves pizza. It's a nice pub with big modern art paintings of film and music icons on the walls. My friends didn't appreciate my plan to buy a similar, but smaller picture to put on my new living room wall. The problem is that I need something modern because it's a brand new flat and brightly coloured because the decoration is neutral. I don't want something cliched like a Matisse print so I'm not sure what to do.

Taped 'That Mitchell and Webb Look' on Thursday and watched in this morning. Thought it was quite good but not as laugh out loud funny as 'Peep Show'. Mock the Week was hilarious as usual. Not much makes me laugh out loud these days but MTW never fails. Didn't see 'Extras' but I'm not keen on 'cringe' comedy so I didn't like the first series. To be honest I'd rather watch the Thursday night repeats of 'Hi de Hi'. I love a good bit of farce and innuendo.

Lee Ross is back in Eastenders for a bit. Quite disturbed by the fact that I find him quite attractive despite the fact he's playing a highly unpleasant wife beater. I blame the fact that I've been without a boyfriend for almost six months.

Nearly at the end of THUG now but only on the Easy level. Will be going back to complete the Normal level now I've improved my manualing skills. Might be able to complete Tony Hawkes 4 now as well.
