i_just_hide: (Human Traffic - Paranoia)
Finally, I have a userpic! It's only taken 2.5 years to get one sorted out! It all started on Friday when I realised that I have a copy of Microsoft Picture It on my PC. I inherited it from my sister three years ago and it still occasionally throws up a few welcome suprises. Now I'm going to go icon crazy. I'm planning My So Called Life ones, Prodigy ones and some movie ones. Maybe even some Press Gang attempts if I can find any which haven't been done already! Even my anti virus software appears to be working properly now. Perhaps it's not a good idea to buy a new PC. I only just seem to be figuring this one out! Now I'm just hoping that no one's going to accuse me of pinching their idea. I intended to check out all the icon sharing forums before doing anything but there are alot more than I thought. If you're reading this and you think I've copied you, I honestly haven't. I captured the image from my own DVD. However, if you want me to remove it, let me know and I'll do so.

Went to Uni this afternoon. The campus was eerily quiet. At break time I was on my own in a PC room which is normally packed out. I guess the undergraduates must be on reading week or taking exams or something similar.

Also, I'm having a bit of a life crisis. I've started wondering what I want to do with the rest of my life once again. Obviously, I'll be in my present job until July 2007 at least as that's when the uni course which my employer has forked out for ends. After that, who knows? At the moment I don't think I want to become an axe wielding HR Officer but in two years time I guess the money may persude me. There's also the underlying feeling that I'm a bad person. My life at the moment doesn't fit in well with my values and ethics. For example, I won't buy anything made by Nestle but I have my hair dyed with L'Oreal hair products (Oddly Nestle own L'Oreal) because that's the brand my salon uses. I advocate recycling yet I hate buying items such as clothes and books second hand which defeats the object somewhat. My friend gave me a book entitled "Change the world for a fiver" for my birthday. I was pleased to see that I do most of the things inside already (except for growing my own Christmas tree, fir trees are banned from our garden since one got too big and the roots started making the house subside!) but there is so much more I could do. I'm just too frightened and pathetic to do it.
