Life and Everything
Dec. 2nd, 2003 09:33 pmLast week was a bit rubbish really. The joint pains I'd been having since the previous Friday had spread all over my body by Wednesday and transformed in to full blown flu so I had my first sick day since starting work in June. I was still feeling poorly on Thursday so instead of spending the day Christmas shopping I spent another day in bed. As a result I have still only purchased one Christmas pressie and I've had to take a day of next week to sort out the rest which is much too close to Christmas for my liking!
The fact that I was still feeling pretty rubbish meant that my girlie night with two of my friends from rag wasn't as enjoyable as it probably should've been. We met up at one of the girl's new flat in Streatham and had a long chat about what we've been up to over the last 6 months or so. It frightens me that I haven't seen them in such a long time. The flat is really lovely, I hope I'll be able to find somewhere like it when I'm looking for a place to rent.
Yesterday I had to go into work for 8am as I was being trained to download the switchboard statistics which has to be done on the first day of the month before switchboard opens at 8.45am. It was the earliest I'd ever arived at work, I had to leave home at 6.45am which was horrible as it was still really dark outside. Thankfully it's only one day each month though.
Today I had my promotion interview. It was OK but I wont find out how I got on until next week as the last person can't be interviewed until Friday. At least it's over with now and I can forget about it for a few days.
I bought two new CDs yesterday: 'Weekend World' by EZ Rollers and 'Stuck in a Groove' by Puretone. I love the EZ Rollers one, in fact I'm listening to it right now, 'Walk This Land' and 'Tough at the Top' are brilliant tracks and the rest of the album is of similar quality. As yet, I haven't listened to the Puretone one. I fear that buying it could've been a mistake as I like the Apollo 440 mix of 'Addicted to Bass' better than the original but I guess I'll soon find out.
