To tell you the truth I'm a bit cross with myself this evening. When I checked my email tonight I almost infected my computer with a virus. I opened an email attachment sent by someone I didn't know and suddenly the screen was covered in Norton anti virus warnings. Fortunately Norton is set to block any files containing viruses from being opened so I hope I'm safe. I've done a complete virus scan which came up clear so fingers crossed that everything's hunky dory. I feel very, very stupid though as I don't normally open any attachments but this one also had a couple of my good friends on the distribution list so I thought it might have been to do with something I signed up for in Cardiff and had forgotten about. I've learnt my lesson now, for sure.

Aside from that little drama the week's been quite eventful in a not very exciting way.

On Tuesday I took my first full day off of work since I started work in June. I had my hair trimmed, set up a cash ISA and a couple of standing orders at the bank then went to Kingston and purchased a mauve v necked sweater for work and a new pair of knee high boots. The boots are gorgeous but they have a leather sole so I slip around all over the place on shiny floors! All in all quite a successful day.

On Wednesday I went back to work and had my six month progress interview. I haven't been there for six months yet but everyone has a review in October and another in April. I got a good report from my line manager and she recommended that I apply for one of the band 6 jobs which has come up in the office. It's quite rare that these jobs come up for grabs (there are only 3 band 6 staff in the office at the moment out of 80 people) so I'm going for it. I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with examples for the application form and the thought of the 'board' terrifies me.

On Tuesday morning I went to the doctors and complained about the fact that the waiting list for the test I have to have is 8 weeks and I'd been waiting for 12. The doctor phoned the consultant and the next morning an appointment letter arrived. This all means that insted of spending next Wednesday at work I'll be in hospital having a tube with a camera on the end shoved down my throat. Not suprisingly I have to be sedated so my parents have had to have half a day off of work each to collect me from the hospital and watch me for the rest of the day in case I have a nasty reaction to the sedative. Let's hope that they figure out what's wrong with me and that it isn't anything too nasty.

My sister came home for the first time in ages on Wednesday. She took a load of her stuff back with her, including a chest of drawers, so this room, which used to be hers, looks really bare.

On Thursday, my parents and I went to the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond to see a play called 'Simplicity.' It was a translation of a French play done by a lady in the 18th century and was well acted although I don't think it was as funny as some of the other old plays I've seen there. The guy who used to play 'The Demon Headmaster' was in it but there wasn't anyone famous in the audience as far as I could see. The Orange Tree was the place where I once sat opposite Alan Rickman so I always try and do some star spotting when I'm there.

The Aphrodite CD is growing on me. The Dillinja and Lemon D one I got at the same time is very different and Mixmag weren't wrong when they said you should buy it if you really hated your neighbours! It's very hard for a drum and bass CD. One of the track feature Michelle Gayle which is a bit odd as I can only remember her singing 'Sweetness' which is such a typical pop song. The next thing I want to buy is an old EZ Rollers one with 'Walk this way' and 'Tough at the Top' on it. I might get HMV in Wimbledon to order it for me. I really wish Wimbledon had a decent sized music store. More than half of HMV is permanently taken up with sale or 3 for 2 stuff.

Cat has emailed. She's back with her Gran in Chichester so I might give her a ring at some point this week.

I've finished reading 'Sourcery' I think it might've been better if I'd read it before Eric as it ends with a cliffhanger surrounding what happens to Rincewind after the Discworld is saved and having read Eric I know that he survived. I'm now reading 'The Great Gatsby' so I can tick another book off of the BBC's top 100.

That's all for now but I'll try and think of somthing entertaining to write tomorrow providing the computer's still working!
