Day 12 - An episode you've watched more than 5 times
Most episodes of series two of Press Gang (excluding 'Picking up the Pieces' and 'Going Back to Jasper Street'), every episode of series three of Press Gang and some of series four.  Is anyone detecting a theme here?  The great thing about Press Gang is that they are so well written they never stop being funny and/or moving.  Although, I have to admit that it's ages since I've watched a single episode, mainly because they look terrible on my widescreen TV.  I think I need to bring my little portable back from my parents' house for that authentic 90s feel.  It has a built in VCR and everything!

Many episodes of My So-Called Life and The Tribe also fit into this category but I'm not going to start listing them all here.  It wouldn't be very interesting.

The whole list... )
There was complete power cut at work at around 5.15pm this afternoon.  I was in the middle of writing a really complicated email which disappeared into thin air.  It was eerily quiet without the usual hum of electrical equipment.  One of my colleagues started saying 'you would've thought security would make an announcement over the public address system' before realising that they couldn't because there was no power.  As someone pointed out, it was lucky that it happened on a Monday when we're not open to the public.  I started work late this morning as I'd been to the doctors so I still had quite a lot of work to do by 5pm.  Now pretty much none of it is done.  Oh well.

Tomorrow I'm working in the Central London offices of our parent department which will be a new experience.  I've never been there before and have been advised that it's one of those office blocks where someone programmes the lift to go to the correct floor before you get in.  High tech stuff!  I don't like lifts but I can't imagine my colleagues will want to walk up five flights of stairs so I'll have to be brave.

The doctor has booked me in for a blood test next Monday.  They do blood tests in the surgery now.  I've always been to our local hospital in the past and the presence of a supervisor has been useful when my body has failed to produce blood at the right time.  I hope I manage this time as I could do without having to take another morning off.

I made blondies from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook this evening.  My sister gave me the book for my birthday but this is the first thing I've been able to cook as I had to buy lots of new tins to suit the recipes.  Blondies are like white chocolate brownies.  The mixture was very, very sweet.  I chose them because we're having a work picnic on Wednesday and I wanted to make something easy to transport.  Iced fairy cakes are fabulous but they really don't travel well and I have to get them from here to work on two trains and then from work to Kew Gardens which is 15 minutes walk.  They look a bit well done, but hopefully people will like them.
