The last week or so has bought back a few memories of Childhood TV shows but I can't find any references to them online.

Firstly, TTV.  This stood for 'Tea Time Television' and involved a puppet cat (maybe similar to the one parodied in 'Bad New' PG fans, I can't remember) sitting on top of a chest of drawers introducing several mini shows.  My very limited memories suggest that the chest of drawers moved to a different location each week.  The mini shows included 'Top of the Mops' ('Top of the Pops' but with mops as the participants) and the 'Chucklehounds' (who in later years dispensed with the dog costumes and became the Chuckle Brothers - they're still being shown on CBBC).  TTV was probably shown in the early to mid 1980s as I was very young.

Secondly, a comedy, drama which revolved around magic and featured a number of magicians including Paul Zenon (who was on TV last night doing the sort of street magic David Blaine used to do before he lost the plot).  I can't remember what the show was called but I know it changed locations for each series (one series was set in a magic shop) and featured different magicians except for Paul Zenon who was around the whole time.  I think he was a teenager when the show began.  Vague memories of a talking white rabbit puppet are returning to me as I type.

Anyone out there remember either of those?  or am I going completely doollally?

Other shows I have fond memories of from when I was very small include 'Galloping Galaxies'.  A show about a middle aged couple who somehow end up on an alien spaceship with a robot voiced by Kenneth Moore.  I remember the robot visiting the broom cupboard to have a chat to Pip and Gordon!  'Superted' was another favourite until Hanna Barbara got the rights and messed it up.  When I lived in Wales it was fascinating seeing the show in it's native Welsh.  The same with 'Fireman Sam' which [Bad username or unknown identity: purple_pirate  recently pointed out is soon to be released on DVD.   On a completely different subject, I only have one more item of Christmas shopping to get.  Despite having a bit of a dodgy feeling tummy today I went into Hounslow after work.  It was a bit crowded but not impossible to cope with so I managed to pick up lots of bits.  Fortunately, I don't have too many people to buy for this year as we're not seeing our extended family.  M&S had pretty much cleared the decks of their food isles to make way for all the Christmas dinner ingredients.  The normal lunch related section was replaced with an extensive selection of sauces.  It took me ages to track down single packs of their nice hand cooked crisps!  By the way, M&S chocolate snowballs are the most amazing things I've tasted in a long time.  Chocolate with a crispy shell surrounded by icing sugar.  Yum!  No wonder my skin is so bad right now with all the Christmas related junk I've been consuming. My Wimbledon friend came round for dinner on Wednesday and gave me a small poinsettia as a housewarming gift.  It's the first thing I've living thing I've been responsible for since I've been living here.  The good news is that it's still alive two days on.  I think it's going to have to come home with me over Xmas or it'll pop it's clogs. Also good news on the dad front.  The swelling on his elbow has gone down and he went back to work today.  This is good from my point of view as it means I'll get a lift home on Sunday with all my gifts etc. Have received an invertation to my friends wedding on Easter Saturday.  I wish it wasn't so close to the date I have to hand in my Management Report.  It means I have to get organised in the interim.  Oh well, better sign off.  I have to get up at 8am tomorrow morning to put my contact lenses in as they only had an appointment for a lens check at 12noon and you have to have your lenses in for 4 hours first.  Grumble, grumble, grumble.  ]
