This is your official warning. This post is going to be one long complaint. If you don't want to read the mediocre moans of someone who really should be doing something more productive, please look away now.

As most people reading this will know I am studying for a post graduate qualification at present. This is being funded by my employer and involves attending Thames Valley University in Ealing every Monday afternoon and evening. I enjoyed my time as an Undergraduate at Cardiff University and always found it well organised and user friendly. Unfortunately, my experiences of Thames Valley University have not been anywhere near as positive. These are my complaints for Monday 30th October 2006.

1) All the toilets in the library were out of order and the library stank of sewers. They were only refurbished over the summer.

2) The HRM section of the library was in a terrible state. I understand that this is partially down to students not putting their books back where they found them, but I still think it was in an unacceptable mess. It was clearly more than one day's mess. Entire shelves of books were falling on the floor as a books had been removed and there weren't enough left to stand up. Tut!

3) The classrooms were way to hot even though the windows were open. I was having trouble staying awake in the evening session.

Now I've finished complaining about TVU I'm going to complain about myself. On Friday afternoon I went to Tesco with my parents. I purchased a vacuum cleaner whilst they did their weekly shop. Unfortunately, somewhere between the till and the door of the shop I managed to drop my debit card. This was probably because someone from work caught me at the end of the till and I got a bit distracted. Even more unfortunately, I didn't realise I'd dropped my card until Saturday morning, upon reaching the front of the queue in HMV I opened my purse and it wasn't there. I had no way of accessing any more money as my credit card was full and I'd only paid it off the day before so funds weren't yet clear so I sloped home to my parents. Once home I cancelled my card in case it'd been pinched then walked down to Tesco to find that it'd been handed in so I needn't have cancelled it any way. I won't get my new card until Friday at the earliest so I'm a cash only citizen until then which will be a challenge.

Everything else is OK. Only six brownies (out of 24) turned up tonight as the rest were out trick or treating. It's quite difficult to figure out games to play with only six kids when you're used to catering for at least 12. Silly songs are always good though.
