Back again. I haven't updated for a while as I've been having trouble getting online.

Things are still pretty much the same although I have an interview in Wimbledon on Tuesday so hopefully things are on the up. The job's with the Valuation Office which is the part of the Inland Revenue which sorts out which council tax band everyone's in. It doesn't sound very exciting but I hope I get it just from the point of view of experience.

Tomorrow I'm envelope stuffing for my agency. They're going to put me on reception for an hour to see how I cope which I'm looking forward to. I think I'd make a good receptionist.

I went out on Friday for Tracey's 22nd birthday. We went to a bar called 'The Sorting Office' in Twickenham and then to a new club called 'Oceana' in Kingston. 'Oceana' is in a building which used to have a bar, a club and a cinema in it but a brand new cinema has been built next door so they've turned the whole place into a club. Consequently the place is huge. It has 5 bars on the ground floor: a Japanese one, a Canadian one, a Parisian Boudoir one, a 20s style one and really mordern one which is called the departure lounge. Upstairs there's a 70s style disco with a Saturday Night Fever style flashing light dance floor and loads of glitterballs. Right at the top there's a huge club which plays your average tacky club stuff. There were live performers on podiums around the dance floor which made things a bit different. It was a good night. We didn't get home until 2.30am then we watched the Big Brother eviction which Tracey had recorded so it was gone 3am by the time we actually got to bed. I'm not very good at sleeping in bed's which aren't my own so I was still trying to get to sleep when Tracey's mum's radio alarm went off at 4.30am (she works at the airport and was on an early) so I didn't get much sleep.

When I got back home in the morning I watched 'The Tribe', 'Popular', 'Harry and Cosh' and 'Daria' and finally tried to get some sleep at about 4pm. Unfortunately the new people two doors down were putting a new roof on their garage so I couldn't get to sleep then either! I'm still knackered now.

Mum and Dad got back from their break in Cheltenham today. Seems like they had a good time. It was a bit lonely in the house without them, I don't know how people can live alone all the time.
I'm listening to 'Dance Anthems' on Radio One at the moment (in between announcements from the planes going overhead 'Good Evening this is American Airlines flight ??? at 30000 feet climbing to 60000 feet' etc) and it's reminding me what a limited range of tracks they play in your average suburban club. I understand that as there are only two large clubs in Kingston they have to cater for the majority but still. When I was at uni I used to get fed up with hearing the same stuff all the time but I put it down to the fact that we only ever went to student nights, now I know differently.

It's good that retro dance music is in fashion at the moment as there are some great tracks out there but everywhere plays the same few out of the huge number availiable. On Friday night they played 'On a Ragga Tip', 'Out of Space', 'No Good Start the Dance', 'Sweet Harmony' and 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy'. I don't have a problem with any of those, in fact I own each of them on CD but there are so many other good tracks to play. I love 'Take Me To Heaven' by Baby D but they never play that and The Shamen released some good stuff too.

I've got to go and have dinner now but I'll return to this topic.
